Ride Kathu

We can arrange delivery to many hotels, apartments and villas around Kathu. Send us your accommodation name or an accurate map location, your preferred rental dates and the number of bikes required. We can then check availability and confirm whether delivery can be arranged to your location. We do not deliver to or collect from Phuket Airport or Phuket Bus Station.

To rent a motorbike you will need to provide a copy of your passport, pay a ฿1,000 deposit and sign a written rental agreement. A suitable Thai or international driving licence valid for motorcycles is also required. Helmets are supplied if required, and riders and passengers are legally required to wear them. Free delivery is available in many Phuket locations for rentals of four days or longer, subject to location, availability and confirmation. Delivery and collection are not available at Phuket Airport or Phuket Bus Station. Tell us your accommodation area and rental dates when you enquire so we can confirm the suitable options available for your stay.

Kathu is an inland area with accommodation, restaurants, shops and local facilities spread across several neighbourhoods. A motorbike can make everyday journeys more convenient and provides flexibility when travelling towards Patong, Phuket Town or other parts of central Phuket.

Kathu’s central position places it between Patong on the west coast and Phuket Town to the east. This can make it a practical base for visitors who want access to different parts of the island rather than staying directly in a beach resort. Journey times will vary with your exact location and traffic conditions.

Kathu has a mixture of busy main routes, residential roads and quieter local streets. Routes towards Patong include steep gradients, bends and heavier traffic, while roads towards Phuket Town can also become busy. Ride at a comfortable speed, leave sufficient space and take extra care in rain or reduced visibility.

Patong can be reached by travelling west from Kathu, while Phuket Town and central shopping areas are accessible to the east. From there, you can continue towards other beaches and destinations around the island. Consider traffic, weather, distance and your riding experience before planning longer journeys.

Tell us how many people will be riding, how long you need the bike and where you expect to travel. A visitor making short journeys within Kathu may have different requirements from someone regularly crossing the hills towards Patong or exploring farther around Phuket. We can then discuss suitable options available for your dates.

Once your booking has been confirmed, we will agree a practical meeting place and time. At the handover, you can check the bike, familiarise yourself with its controls and ask any questions before setting off. The return or collection arrangements can also be confirmed at this stage.
