Patong Beach motorbike hire FAQs
Practical information about arranging motorbike delivery, navigating busy Patong and exploring Phuket’s west coast during your stay.
Can you deliver a motorbike to my accommodation in Patong?
We can arrange delivery to many hotels, apartments and villas around Patong. Send us your accommodation name, an accurate map location, your preferred rental dates and the number of bikes required. We can then check availability and agree a practical place for the delivery and handover. We do not deliver to or collect from Phuket Airport or Phuket Bus Station.
What do I need to rent a motorbike?
To rent a motorbike you will need to provide a copy of your passport, pay a ฿1,000 deposit and sign a written rental agreement. A suitable Thai or international driving licence valid for motorcycles is also required. Helmets are supplied if required, and riders and passengers are legally required to wear them. Free delivery is available in many Phuket locations for rentals of four days or longer, subject to location, availability and confirmation. Delivery and collection are not available at Phuket Airport or Phuket Bus Station. Tell us your accommodation area and rental dates when you enquire so we can confirm the suitable options available for your stay.
Is a motorbike useful when staying in Patong?
Many central Patong destinations are close together, but accommodation also extends inland and onto surrounding hillside roads. A motorbike can be useful for reaching places outside the busiest centre and for travelling to nearby beaches. It also gives you more flexibility when exploring beyond Patong during your stay.
What is riding in central Patong like?
Central Patong can be very busy, with frequent junctions, vehicles stopping, pedestrians crossing and traffic changing lanes. Ride slowly enough to react, maintain space around other vehicles and check carefully before turning or changing position. Allow extra time rather than rushing through congested streets.
Where can I park a motorbike in Patong?
Use designated motorbike parking where it is available and check any signs or instructions at your hotel, shopping area or destination. Avoid blocking entrances, footpaths or access for other vehicles. If you are unsure, ask your accommodation where guests are permitted to leave rental bikes overnight.
Where can I explore from Patong by motorbike?
Kalim and Kamala are north of Patong along the west coast, while Karon and Kata can be reached by travelling south. Kathu and Phuket Town are accessible by inland routes. Roads leaving Patong include hills and bends, so plan around traffic, weather and your riding experience.
How do I choose a suitable motorbike for Patong?
Tell us how many people will be riding, how long you need the bike and whether you expect to make mainly short trips or longer journeys around Phuket. A visitor using a bike locally may have different requirements from someone regularly crossing the hills outside Patong. We can then discuss suitable available options.
What happens when the motorbike is delivered?
Once your booking has been confirmed, we will agree a practical meeting place and time. At the handover, you can check the bike, familiarise yourself with its controls and ask any questions before setting off. The return or collection arrangements can also be confirmed at this stage.
